A former employee of Kanye West is taking legal action to stop the rapper from using an insanity defense in their ongoing lawsuit.
Benjamin Provo, who worked at West's Donda Academy in 2021, filed court documents requesting that the judge block West from claiming he was of 'unsound mind' during the alleged discrimination.
Provo argues that West raised the insanity defense just before the trial, without providing any medical records or expert testimony to support it.
During a deposition, West reportedly stated he was of sound mind during the events in question, contradicting his new defense.
Provo's lawsuit claims he was fired for his dreadlocks and that West treated Black employees more harshly than White employees.
West has denied the allegations, and the trial is scheduled for October.
Additionally, West is seeking to exclude evidence of his social media posts praising Nazi and Hitler from the trial.
