Tennis star Amanda Anisimova caused a stir during her match against Alex Eala on Monday, as commentators debated what she was drinking.
The incident occurred in the second set of her Round of 32 victory at the Cincinnati Open.
During a changeover, cameras caught Anisimova sipping from a clear cup, and the liquid looked foamy with a hue similar to beer.
Broadcaster Brett Haber asked his colleague Lindsay Davenport, "What is that, Lindsay?" Davenport speculated it might be apple cider.
Haber then said, "I mean, I would never suggest that a player was drinking a beer in the middle of a match, but ...
that's certainly what it looked like."
He added, "It could be non-alcoholic, it could be cider, it could be anything. We don't know."
The mystery was eventually solved.
Haber confirmed, "Just to put a bow on the story, we can confirm, via one of our court-side camera operators, that Anisimova asked for and was delivered a Red Bull.
That is the mystery bevvy."
So it wasn't alcohol, but perhaps Anisimova celebrated her win over the Filipino phenom with a real beer afterward.
Eala has been attracting huge crowds with her recent success, but Monday belonged to Anisimova.
