UFC president Dana White has dismissed a viral conspiracy theory suggesting the U. S.
government used secret weather-modification technology to clear the skies for the Freedom 250 event.
The theory emerged after a massive storm heading toward Washington, D. C.
, unexpectedly split before reaching the venue, allowing the historic fights to proceed.
During a recent interview with Babcock, White firmly denied the claims: "I can promise you that did not happen."
He explained that both he and the president initially believed the storm would hit the area, despite having military meteorologists monitoring the situation.
White acknowledged hearing the theory before, even from his close friend Skip, whom he calls the biggest conspiracy theorist he knows.
"I get how these things happen and how they start," White said. "There was absolutely no military, you know, right?
We thought we were getting hit."
Beyond the weather controversy, White discussed Islam Makhachev's upcoming welterweight title defense against Ian Garry at UFC 330 in Philadelphia this weekend.
He also weighed in on whether Makhachev is already in the GOAT conversation, and whether Garry is being overlooked by fans and media.
The conversation also touched on Mackenzie Dern's rise in the sport and potential locations for the promotion's next major event after the Sphere and the White House.
