Samsung is gearing up to roll out the One UI 9 Watch update to older Galaxy smartwatches, but some models will be left behind.

The stable version of One UI 9 Watch debuted in July on the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, with a broader rollout expected after the beta program ends.

However, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have reached the end of their OS update support, having received four major upgrades as promised.

Ineligible Models

The following Galaxy smartwatches will not receive the One UI 9 Watch update: Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Galaxy Watch 4 Golf Edition, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic Thom Browne Edition.

These devices launched in 2021 with One UI Watch 3 (Wear OS 3) and have since received four major OS updates, fulfilling Samsung's update commitment.

While they will continue to function, they will no longer receive software updates, including security patches, which ended in August 2026.

For those considering an upgrade, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 offer five major OS upgrades and five years of security patches.
