Physical keyboards are making a comeback in the smartphone world. After years of uniform glass slabs, several companies are reviving the tactile typing experience popularized by BlackBerry.

Unihertz continues to refine its Titan series, while newcomers like Clicks and Minimal bring fresh ideas to the keyboard-phone market.

If you prioritize typing and productivity over gaming or photography, these are the best options in 2026.

Clicks Communicator: A Fresh Take on Messaging

The Clicks Communicator, unveiled at CES 2026, is the first standalone Android phone from UK-based Clicks Technology.

It features a compact 4.03-inch AMOLED display with a backlit physical keyboard and a fingerprint sensor in the spacebar.

Powered by a 4nm MediaTek chip, it includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 24MP selfie camera, and supports USB-C and Qi2 wireless charging.

It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and microSD expansion up to 2TB.

What sets the Communicator apart is its software. It consolidates WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and Gmail into a single feed, reducing app switching.

A 'Signal Light' around a side button changes color based on the sender, and a programmable key can trigger voice dictation.

Clicks positions it as a second phone for separating work messaging, but it could serve as a primary device.

Early reservations are $399, rising to $499 later. Shipping is expected in Q4 2026, so it's a phone to reserve rather than buy immediately.

Unihertz Titan 2 Elite: Ready to Order Now

For a keyboard phone available today, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite is a strong choice.

It's touted as the world's smallest 5G phone with a physical keyboard, measuring 117.8 x 75 x 10.4mm.

It sports a 4.03-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a QWERTY keyboard with a built-in trackpad, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Two configurations are offered: standard with Dimensity 7400, and Pro with Dimensity 8400 for heavier multitasking.

Both versions pack a 4,050mAh battery with 33W fast charging, dual 50MP rear cameras, and run Android 16.
