An MMA fighter's flashy entrance took a painful turn this week. Ryoma "Jolly" Shishimoto danced to ILLIT's "It's Me" during his walkout at RIZIN 54.
The event took place at Toyota Center Tokyo in Japan. His choreography quickly went viral on social media.
Some fans praised his moves and called him their "bias." Others questioned the effort before a violent fight.
The critics' stance seemed justified. Shishimoto lost to Joe Hiramoto via TKO with just over 90 seconds left in the first round.
He suffered serious injuries, including busted teeth and a broken jaw. He even shared a skull scan showing a clean break near his mouth.
"Embarrassing!" Shishimoto said.
"My jaw was busted. Joe-kun is a fabulous fighter, Black Rose was strong."
He added, "Hiramoto Ren, Shinotsuka Tatsuki -- I have nothing else to say. I wave the white flag.
To all my supporters, I'm really sorry."
His entrance also caught the attention of ex-UFC star Mike Perry. Perry commented under the dance clip, "How did the fight go?"
