"The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is officially coming back for a sixth season, TMZ has confirmed.
The renewal comes after months of uncertainty following the controversy involving cast members Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.
Series star Layla Taylor announced the news Thursday on Hulu's "Get Real" podcast, and sources tell TMZ that 20 new episodes have been ordered.
Whether Taylor Frankie Paul will return remains unclear, as the network is keeping casting details under wraps. However, Layla is confirmed to be on board.
Production Delays and Legal Issues
Filming for season 5 was halted in March due to domestic violence allegations between Taylor and Dakota.
Those legal issues have since been resolved, but the couple is still involved in a custody battle with dual restraining orders.
Cameras resumed in April to finish season 5, and Taylor did film her portion of the intro, though she skipped the wrap-up confessional.
An official premiere date for season 5 has not been announced, but with season 6 in the works, it may arrive sooner rather than later.
No production start date for season 6 has been revealed yet.
