Bijou Phillips is recovering after a successful kidney transplant, following a dire health scare.
The singer and model shared the news on social media Tuesday, posting photos from her hospital bed.
Her brother's donation sparked a chain reaction that led to a perfect match through a voucher program.
"He saved a life, and the life he saved had a special person donate for them, and then a few weeks later!
The voucher program found me a perfect match!" she wrote.
Phillips was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent her first three months on dialysis. She received a transplant from a friend in 2017, but that kidney eventually failed.
When she recently appealed for donors, over 1,000 people volunteered, but none were a match at the time.
She praised her UCLA doctors, saying she feels "at five days out like I did four months after my last surgery!"
