Lenovo has introduced a new portable Wi-Fi hotspot in China under its Legion brand.

The Legion LM50S is a 4G LTE device priced at 59 yuan, approximately $8, and comes bundled with 1,500GB of promotional data.

Specifications and Features

The LM50S operates on 4G LTE networks with download speeds up to 150Mbps.

This is sufficient for routine tasks like email, video streaming, online classes, and remote work, though it does not match 5G bandwidth.

For local connectivity, the device uses Wi-Fi 6, which efficiently handles multiple connections.

It can support up to 10 devices simultaneously and includes high-frequency wall penetration technology for better indoor signal stability.

Inside, a 28nm chipset from ZTE keeps power consumption low while maintaining network stability.

The hotspot automatically switches between China's three major telecom operators—China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom—to ensure the strongest signal.

The LM50S is designed for portability, weighing about 90 grams and measuring 110.5 x 68 x 10.5 mm.

It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery, providing up to 12 hours of use under normal conditions, with power-saving algorithms to reduce idle drain.

Charging is via a standard USB-C port.
