Ugreen has introduced a new 45W USB-C GaN fast charger with a built-in display in China.
Officially called the Ugreen 45W USB-C GaN Fast Charger, the accessory is priced at 119 yuan (~$18) and will go on sale for the first time on May 26.
Design and display features
The charger features a small display on the front bevel that shows real-time charging information, including power output, voltage, current, charging protocol, and temperature.
It can also recognize certain Apple devices and display the device model directly on the screen. Ugreen has additionally added support for custom emojis.
According to the company, the screen uses a 45-degree angled design for easier viewing when plugged into a desk socket.
The charger comes in a silver finish all around except the base. The latter is accented in red and houses foldable prongs for portability.
Specifications and performance
Inside, the charger uses GaN technology, which allows it to remain compact while still delivering up to 45W charging speeds.
Ugreen says the charger can maintain full-speed charging without reducing power output.
The company claims some smartphones can reach 50% battery in around 20 minutes, while laptops and tablets can also be charged quickly through the single USB-C port.
For heat management, the charger combines a GaN chip with graphene-based cooling materials and potting technology to improve heat dissipation and keep temperatures lower during charging sessions.
The charger supports multiple power outputs, including 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A, with a maximum output of 45W.
It supports 100-240V input, making it suitable for travel in different regions.
Weighing around 96 grams, the charger is lightweight and portable despite the addition of the screen. Ugreen is also offering an 18-month warranty with the product.
