Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Smart Pressure Cooker 2 Pro in China, a 5-liter appliance priced at 899 yuan ($132).

The cooker focuses on faster heating, quicker depressurization, and a two-pot system to separate meal types.

Key Specifications and Features

The cooker is equipped with a 2200W induction heating (IH) system, which heats the pot more evenly and brings liquids to a boil faster than standard 1000W models.

It operates at a high pressure of 112kPa, reaching internal temperatures up to 120°C.

Xiaomi claims this pressure cuts cooking time for tough meats like beef or ribs to just 15 minutes, a 40% reduction compared to older 70kPa models.

The cooker also features a stepless pressure adjustment system that automatically customizes the pressure curve for different ingredients.

The Mijia 2 Pro comes with two pots: a 304 stainless steel pot for stewing, soups, and open-lid cooking, and a fluorine-free ceramic-coated pot for rice, porridge, and desserts.

The ceramic pot meets Class II non-stick standards, and the dual-pot design prevents flavor transfer.

With a 5-liter capacity, each pot can handle up to 20 bowls of rice or about 2.5 kilograms of beef.

To address slow depressurization, the cooker uses an automatic air-cooling exhaust system that releases pressure and allows opening the lid in as little as 88 seconds.

It includes 18 safety mechanisms, such as overpressure protection, temperature limits, and lid-opening locks.

The control panel is tempered glass with a small display, supporting 10 cooking modes, including an open-lid option for hotpot or sauce reduction.

Smart Connectivity and Warranty

The cooker connects to the Mijia app and Xiaomi's HyperOS, enabling users to schedule meals up to 24 hours in advance, adjust texture settings (chewy, balanced, or soft), and access over 100 cloud recipes.
