Barack Obama admits his marriage to Michelle hasn't been an equal partnership — claiming he's benefited far more than she has.
In a recent interview with People, the former president said the 34-year union has been a "mixed bag" for Michelle, while he's "gotten more out of it than she has."

"Just being with her made me better, and she still does," Barack said, adding that Michelle gave their children a foundation that has paid off.

The couple spoke amid the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

Michelle, however, rejected the idea that she drew the short straw. She said Barack is simply being modest and trying to shine the light on others.

She noted she could have had a happy life in Chicago without becoming First Lady, but acknowledged her husband gave her and their daughters a "broader" life.
