According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K90 Ultra (model M332BF) will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with a built-in air cooling fan system.

This combination aims to deliver sustained performance comparable to devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The device is also expected to pack a massive battery around 8,500mAh, supporting 100W wired fast charging.

This has been confirmed through 3C certification.

Positioning and competition

The K90 Ultra sits below the Redmi K90 Max, which launched in April 2026 with MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 and its own active cooling.

The tipster clarified there is no overlap: the K90 Max targets absolute top-end performance with the latest Dimensity chip, while the Ultra focuses on maximizing Qualcomm's previous-generation flagship silicon.

Adding a fan may be cheaper for Redmi than using a newer premium chipset.

This approach could deliver strong, sustained performance at an attractive price, similar to Honor's WIN/RT phones.

Expected features

  • 1.5K flat OLED display with a high refresh rate, possibly up to 165Hz
  • Dual stereo speakers
  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner
  • IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance

The K90 Max launched at around 3,499 yuan and sold well.

The K90 Ultra is rumored to start at a lower price, making it a compelling option for gamers and power users seeking multi-day battery life and stable performance.

Redmi appears to be bringing active cooling, previously limited to dedicated gaming phones, into more mainstream devices.

If leaks are accurate, the K90 Ultra could balance power, thermals, and value effectively.
