Huawei is set to release commercial versions of its HarmonyOS-powered desktop PCs this September, marking a significant expansion of its homegrown operating system into the enterprise market.
Zhu Dongdong, President of Huawei's Terminal Tablet and PC Product Line, announced the launch during the HarmonyOS Office sub-forum at the recent HDC 2026.

He stated that business testing and trial runs will begin around July or August.
Two models have already been introduced: the HM740 and HM940.
These are not standard consumer PCs but are tailored for business use with enhanced security features, including a dedicated security chip to meet enterprise data protection standards.

The HM740, for instance, is only 14.5mm thick and weighs 1.32kg, yet offers up to 21 hours of battery life.
It features a 14.2-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and includes digital dual-space separation to keep work and personal data separate.

This initiative is part of Huawei's broader strategy to build a full-stack, secure computing environment independent of traditional Western operating systems.
Shipments of HarmonyOS PCs are expected to grow in 2026 as the ecosystem expands across phones, tablets, and PCs.
For businesses in China and potentially other markets, these desktops provide a mature alternative focused on security, customization, and ecosystem integration.
