The Xiaomi 18 series has been a hot topic in rumors, and now the vanilla model has made its first official appearance.

The device was listed in the GSMA IMEI database with the internal codename "madrid" and model numbers 2611FPNFAR, 2611FPNFAG, 2611FPNFAI, and M154FF.

An entry in the GSMA database is often an early sign that a device is undergoing certification for commercial sale.

The model numbers correspond to variants for China, India, Japan, and global markets.

Xiaomi typically launches its flagship phones in China first before expanding internationally.

The appearance of multiple regional model numbers at this early stage could indicate a broader international rollout than usual.

Under Xiaomi's previous internal numbering system, the position assigned to "madrid" would suggest it is a Pro model rather than the standard Xiaomi 18.

However, information from Mi Code indicates the company may have changed its model-numbering strategy this year.

There are also reports that the Xiaomi 18 Ultra may not be released due to cost considerations.

If the Ultra is canceled, the lineup structure would shift, and "madrid" could end up being the standard Xiaomi 18.

Nothing is confirmed yet.

The "2611" prefix in the model numbers is commonly used to estimate a launch window.

Based on previous patterns, the Xiaomi 18 series could be targeting a release around November 2026.

The Xiaomi 18 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, paired with LPDDR6 memory.
