TECNO has officially launched the POVA 8 5G, a smartphone that emphasizes battery life, design, gaming, and AI capabilities.
The device made its global debut on June 11, 2026, starting with India as the first market.
The phone sports an Interstellar Spaceship-inspired design with a semi-transparent back panel and a geometric rear camera module.
Alive Matrix Display and Battery
A standout feature is the Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel. This customizable LED lighting system reacts to calls, notifications, music, gaming events, and charging status.
Users can choose from 49 preset effects or create custom animations.
The POVA 8 5G packs an 8,000mAh battery that is TÜV SÜD certified for up to two days of regular use.
TECNO claims it delivers over 60 hours of calling, 85 hours of music playback, 29 hours of YouTube streaming, and more than 14 hours of gaming per charge.
The battery retains over 80% health after 2,000 charge cycles, offering up to six years of reliable use.
Camera and Performance
For photography, the device features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera co-engineered with Sony for improved light capture.
It supports 2x lossless zoom. The front houses a 13MP selfie camera.
AI LightMaster 2.0 reduces lens flares, reflections, and shadows.
Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset powers the phone, paired with TECNO's G1 Signal Enhancement Chip and SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement Chip for better connectivity in weak-signal areas like elevators and basements.
The display offers a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming.
Software features include AI YouTube Summary, AI Writing, AI Theme Generator, and All-Scenario Noise Cancellation. TECNO promises two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
Buyers also receive 256GB of free cloud storage for three years, with selected markets getting a three-month Google AI Plus trial with 2TB cloud storage.
