Huawei has officially introduced HarmonyOS 7 at its annual developer conference, showcasing the next major iteration of its operating system.

The update brings a refreshed visual language, deeper artificial intelligence integration, and new security features aimed at improving user experience across devices.

Spatial Design and AI Enhancements

HarmonyOS 7 introduces a spatial design language that adds depth to the user interface through software-based 3D effects.

Lock screens now interact more naturally with wallpapers, and on-screen elements like buttons and sliders feature new lighting effects that convey movement and depth.

Artificial intelligence plays a central role in HarmonyOS 7.

Huawei describes it as the first OS built around a comprehensive AI-driven architecture rather than simply layering AI features on top.

The upgraded Celia assistant acts as a system-level intelligence hub, capable of understanding user intent, executing multi-step actions, and interacting deeply with apps.

The new HarmonyOS Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0 aims to improve task completion rates for complex requests to over 90 percent.

AI enhancements also extend to smarter photo editing tools, content generation features, and improved system-level assistance.

Anti-Fraud and Performance Improvements

HarmonyOS 7 includes a new anti-fraud platform designed to protect users from scams.

It can identify suspicious QR codes, detect fraudulent web pages, flag app impersonation attempts, and recognize overseas spoofed phone numbers.

AI-based voice scam detection and other communication safety tools are also added.

Performance is another key focus.

Huawei claims HarmonyOS 7 delivers up to 15 percent better performance than its predecessor while keeping long-term system load growth under control.

Developer Beta and Device Availability

The HarmonyOS 7 Developer Beta program starts today for devices including the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, Mate X7, Mate XT Master, Pura 90 Pro Max, Pura X, Pura X Collector’s Edition, and nova 15 Pro.

Developers can begin testing immediately, with a stable rollout expected later this year.

The Mate 90 series, anticipated to launch in September in China, will be the first Huawei phones to come preloaded with HarmonyOS 7.
