Casio has released its latest high-end G-Shock Mudmaster, the GWG-B1000MG-1A9, in the United States.

The watch debuted in Japan last month and is now available stateside at a price of $900.

The new model belongs to the Master of G series and combines Casio's standard durability with a Magma Gold colorway.

It also uses bio-based materials for the case.

Design and Build

The watch features a high-precision forged metal bezel with multi-shade gold ion-plating. Red and orange accents appear on the hands and indexes.

Casio employs garal color molding for the band, mixing different colored resins to create a marbled pattern.

The case uses Carbon Core Guard and bio-based resin, keeping the weight at 114 grams.

The watch offers shock, vibration, and mud resistance, along with 200-meter water resistance. The analog-digital display is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Features and Sensors

The Mudmaster is equipped with Casio's Triple Sensor technology, including a digital compass, barometer/altimeter, and thermometer.

It is powered by Tough Solar and keeps time via Multi-Band 6 radio control.

Bluetooth connectivity allows the watch to link with iOS and Android smartphones through the Casio Watches app.

This enables automatic time adjustment, mission logging, and a Location Indicator feature.

The Location Indicator uses the watch's hand at the 3 o'clock position to physically point toward a destination set in the app.

This serves as a navigation tool in low-visibility environments.

Battery life is rated at about six months of normal use without light exposure, or up to 24 months in total darkness with power-saving mode.
