Apple's first foldable iPhone, rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, is reportedly advancing in development.

A tipster claims the device will incorporate vapor chamber cooling and a liquid metal hinge.

According to Weibo user Fixed Focus Digital, prototypes have already been sent to global carriers for testing.

The device is expected to be extremely thin, measuring around 4.5mm to 5mm when unfolded.

The vapor chamber would help manage heat during demanding tasks.

Apple already uses this technology in the iPhone 17 Pro series, and bringing it to a foldable makes sense given the larger display likely encourages multitasking.

The liquid metal hinge is said to offer better durability and flexibility than conventional components, potentially reducing the appearance of the display crease.

Folded thickness is estimated at 9mm to 9.5mm.

Apple appears determined to avoid compromises seen in rival foldables.

Tight ecosystem integration could make multitasking a standout feature, while the hinge and cooling address durability and thermal concerns.

Current rumors point to a September 2026 launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

The device is expected to feature a 7.8-inch to 8-inch inner display, a smaller outer screen, Apple's A20-series chip, Touch ID, and a dual rear camera.

Pricing may start at around $2,000.

These details come from supply chain sources and should be treated with caution, but the latest leaks suggest Apple is focusing on durability, heat management, and long-term usability.
