Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 3 Max, a ceiling-mounted drying system now crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin in China.
The opening price is 2399 yuan, roughly $357.
The unit combines a slim 9cm-thick body with a large lighting panel and heavy-duty drying hardware.
Lighting and drying features
A 42-inch panel along the bottom hides the air vent while providing stepless color temperature and brightness control from 2700K to 5700K.
Xiaomi rates the panel at an Ra95 color rendering index and says it meets the RG0 standard for no measurable blue light hazard.
The panel can also sense when someone is in the room and adjust lighting automatically.
For drying, the system uses a semi-enclosed zone built around a 770mm air outlet.
That outlet pushes 1250W of hot air alongside 10W of natural airflow, paired with a drying net rated at 99% antibacterial effectiveness.
Plasma release technology adds what the company calls dual-effect sterilization.
Structurally, the dryer relies on a DC motor and a 2.0mm steel wire rope rated for loads up to 45kg.
A 2.4m telescopic pole runs the length of the unit and splits it into five distinct zones.
Xiaomi says the setup can hold around 80 pieces of clothing or two quilts at a time.
Users can control lift height and timing directly from the app.
A scheduling option allows the rack to lower during the day and raise again at night automatically.
Xiaomi has not said whether the Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 3 Max will launch beyond China.
Given the pattern with its past ceiling dryers, an international release is unlikely anytime soon.
