Xiaomi has introduced a new foot bath in China, the Mijia Sterilization Foot Bath, priced at 429 yuan (~$64) but available initially for 329 yuan (~$49).
The device uses a patented pipe design for sterilization, placing the UV component deep inside the plumbing rather than in the tub.
As water circulates, it is treated with UV light, achieving a claimed 99.9% sterilization rate.
This design avoids dead spots and potential UV leakage associated with exposed lamps, allowing disinfection during use without a separate cleaning cycle.
Xiaomi first used this pipe-based sterilization in the MIJIA Smart Sterilizing Foot Bath in 2023, and later in the Mijia Smart Airbag Foot Bath 2 Pro.
Massage and Design
The foot bath features two rotating discs under a TPE silicone pad, offering three massage modes that simulate hand massage.
The seamless silicone layer is removable and rinseable for easy cleaning.
Standing 358mm tall with a 250mm-deep basin, it uses DPS water-electricity separation for heating and NTC sensors to maintain temperature.
Temperature can be set from 35°C to 48°C in 1°C increments, with an LED panel for controls.
Safety features include seven layers of protection, such as a 2mm thick insulation around the DPS heater, about 10 times thicker than standard PTC heaters.
A leakage-protection plug cuts power within 0.1 seconds on abnormal current, and protections against overheating, low-temperature burns, dry heating, and electrical issues are included.
The base has straight and omnidirectional wheels, allowing it to be locked in place or rolled around.
A low-positioned drain outlet simplifies emptying, and a removable, washable filter catches residue.
A rack for the power cable is also provided.
