At IFA 2026, Lexar introduced the Muse, a portable SSD that stands out for its ultra-thin profile and magnetic attachment system.

The drive measures just 3.8mm at its thickest point and tapers to 1mm at the edges, weighing only 26.5 grams.

Its aluminum body and included magnetic sleeve allow it to snap onto MagSafe-compatible iPhones, sitting flat against the device.

To transfer data, Lexar uses a custom cable with a magnetic PogoPin connector that attaches to the SSD.

This design keeps the cable close to the phone, reducing clutter during filming or everyday use.

Performance and Compatibility

The Muse delivers read speeds up to 1,050 MB/s and write speeds up to 1,000 MB/s.

It can handle recording Apple ProRes 4K video at 120 fps directly to the drive.

Compatibility includes USB-C devices such as iPhone 15, 16, and 17 series, iPads, Macs, and PCs.

A companion app offers automatic file backups from your phone.

Pricing and Availability

Lexar plans to release the Muse in Q4 2026 in 512GB and 1TB capacities.

Pricing has not been announced yet.
