Nubia is set to release a new smartphone cooler in China, the Magnetic Phone Cooler Neo, marketed as the Ice Cream Cooler.

It will be available starting September 10th via JD. com, priced at 159 yuan ($24) but with a launch discount of 99 yuan ($15).

Design and Cooling Hardware

The ice cream theme comes from its design: a matte, off-white square housing with rounded corners and speckles resembling a vanilla cookie.

Measuring 25mm thick and weighing 90 grams, it is relatively standard for a magnetic cooler.

Internally, it borrows hardware from the RedMagic Cooler 8 Pro, featuring a 36x36mm thermoelectric cooling (TEC) plate, a cold-forged aluminum heatsink, and an aluminum heat-spreading plate.

Drawing up to 25W, Nubia claims it can reach temperatures as low as -18°C and reduce device temperature by up to 60 degrees during heavy tasks like gaming or fast charging.

A seven-blade fan spins at up to 6,000 rpm, with airflow exhausting out of the top and bottom to keep hot air away from your hands.

On its lowest setting, the fan operates at 33dB.

Controls and Compatibility

No app is needed; physical buttons on the side switch between four cooling modes: Silent, Powerful, Overclocking, and Temperature Control.

The buttons also control a circular RGB light on the back, allowing you to cycle through lighting effects or turn them off.

It attaches via a magnetic ring, but Nubia includes clamp attachments for phones without built-in magnets.

A standard 1/4-inch screw thread on the housing lets you mount it to a tripod or livestreaming rig.
