Timex has introduced the Marlin Jet Chronograph, a 40mm watch that blends 1960s design cues with a hybrid meca-quartz movement.
The watch is available in two versions.
The primary model features a sage green dial with white sub-dials and comes on a stainless steel deployant bracelet for $309.
The second variant costs $279 and sports a silver-tone dial with navy blue sub-dials, paired with a blue quick-release fabric strap made from recycled plastic.
Design and Features
A heavily domed Hesalite crystal extends over the grooved bezel and tachymeter scale, giving the watch a smooth, vintage-inspired profile.
The brushed and polished stainless steel case measures 40mm wide, 46.5mm lug-to-lug, and 14mm thick.
Inside, the watch runs on a meca-quartz movement powered by an SR936SW battery. This hybrid system uses a standard quartz mechanism for timekeeping, ensuring accuracy and lower cost.
The chronograph functions are driven by a mechanical module, so the second hand sweeps smoothly when the timer starts and snaps back instantly on reset.
Both models include a date window above the 6 o'clock marker, full hour markers, and a 50-meter water resistance rating, suitable for rain and light swimming but not diving.
The watches are listed on the Timex US storefront now, with the fabric strap version currently marked as a pre-order.
