Citizen has introduced a new limited-edition model in its aviation watch lineup, the Promaster Skyhawk A-T (JY8144-50E).
The timepiece is now available for purchase in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The watch is powered by Citizen's Caliber U680 movement, which integrates two hallmark features: Eco-Drive and atomic timekeeping.
Eco-Drive technology converts natural and artificial light into energy via solar panels beneath the dial, storing it in a rechargeable cell.
This allows the watch to run continuously without battery replacements.
For timekeeping, the watch relies on radio-controlled synchronization, receiving calibration signals from atomic clocks to maintain accuracy.
Its internal software supports automatic time adjustments for 43 cities worldwide, a practical feature for frequent travelers.
Design and Build
The Skyhawk A-T features a 46mm gold-tone stainless steel case with brushed and polished finishes.
It comes with a matching steel bracelet and a fold-over clasp with hidden push buttons.
The black dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, offering scratch resistance and reduced glare.
The watch has a water resistance rating of 200 meters, suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
Its hybrid dial combines analog hands with digital LCD screens to display additional information.
Functions include a perpetual calendar, a 1/100-second chronograph (up to 24 hours), a 99-minute countdown timer, two daily alarms, and dual time zone settings.
As an aviation watch, it also shows Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). An analog gauge indicates power reserve, and digital screens have a built-in backlight for low-light conditions.
Pricing and Availability
Citizen has capped the global production at 5,200 unnumbered pieces.
The watch is available now through Citizen's regional websites, priced at $995.00 in the US and £695.00 in the UK.
