Huawei has expanded its Nova 16 lineup in China with the introduction of the Nova 16 and Nova 16z, joining the previously unveiled Ultra and Pro models.
The Nova 16 sits a step above the 16z, offering a more powerful Kirin 9010S chipset, a larger 7,000mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom.

Huawei Nova 16 Specifications
The Nova 16 features a 6.68-inch OLED display with 2800 x 1280 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
It is powered by the Kirin 9010S chipset and houses a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging.
The rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel RYYB periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a Red Maple color sensor.
The front camera is 50 megapixels.
The device supports two-way BeiDou satellite messaging, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, and IP65-rated protection.

The Nova 16z is positioned as an entry-level model, powered by the Kirin 8020 chipset.
It sports a 6.7-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
The battery capacity is 6,000mAh with 100W charging support.
Its camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel RYYB telephoto portrait camera with OIS, and a Red Maple color sensor.
The front camera is also 50 megapixels.

Both phones run HarmonyOS 6.1 and include AI-assisted photography tools, satellite messaging, stereo speakers, infrared remote control, NFC, Star Flash connectivity, and side-mounted fingerprint sensors.
Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Nova 16 comes in Sky Blue, White, and Starry Black.
Pricing starts at 2,999 CNY (~$418) for the 256GB variant, 3,499 CNY (~$488) for 512GB, and 3,999 CNY (~$558) for 1TB.
The Nova 16z is available in White, Green, and Black.
The 256GB model costs 2,399 CNY (~$335), while the 512GB version is priced at 2,799 CNY (~$390).

Huawei has not announced international availability for either device.
