Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the new Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 7C in China. The device combines vacuuming and mopping in one unit.
The two-in-one robot uses a roller mopping technique with running water to scrub surfaces.

Unlike flat pads, the roller spins at 200 RPM while fresh water flows through it continuously.
This helps lift stubborn stains like coffee spills and oil marks.
Xiaomi says the roller mimics the pressure of hand mopping, offering more cleaning power than a simple mop pad.
The 7C also delivers 30,000Pa of suction power, picking up dust, debris, and pet hair from carpets.
Its main brush can automatically cut tangled hair, while side brushes clean edges.

AI camera and navigation
For navigation, the 7C relies on an AI camera paired with linear laser obstacle avoidance.
Xiaomi claims it can recognize more than 220 everyday obstacles even in dim rooms.
A side laser helps the robot stay closer to walls and edges.
The roller can extend when reaching corners, while side brushes clean remaining edges, reducing dirt left behind.
At 9cm tall, the robot fits under most beds, cabinets, and sofas. It also distinguishes carpet from hard flooring using an ultrasonic sensor.
When it detects carpet, it lifts the mop roller 10mm and boosts suction, so carpets get cleaned without getting wet.

It can climb over 2cm steps and thresholds.
Back at the dock, the robot washes its own mop and dries it with hot air in as little as two hours.
It stores dust in a 2.5L antibacterial bag, lasting up to 75 days.
The dock has a 4L clean water tank and a separate 3.5L wastewater tank.
The Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 7C is available for pre-order on Xiaomi Youpin at 2,299 yuan (~$342).
