The lock emphasizes physical security with a C-class straight-in lock cylinder and an internal clutch mechanism.

If the exterior panel is broken or the handle is forced, the internal mechanism keeps the door secured.
Inside, a physical deadlock knob provides manual locking, and the door auto-locks when closed.
Multiple unlock methods
Entry options include a semiconductor fingerprint scanner on the handle, which reads prints in half a second.

The scanner updates fingerprint data over time and supports a duress fingerprint that silently alerts an emergency contact.
Users can also unlock via PIN codes, temporary passwords, virtual passwords, mechanical key, Bluetooth, or NFC with compatible Xiaomi devices.

The lock integrates with Mi Home and HyperOS Connect, enabling smart home routines via a Bluetooth Mesh gateway.
Sensors send remote alerts for issues like the door left open, multiple incorrect PIN attempts, or panel removal.
Power comes from four AA alkaline batteries rated for up to 12 months, with an emergency button for final unlocks and a USB-C port for temporary power.
