Jonathan Jackson, who starred alongside Hayden Panettiere in the hit TV series "Nashville," has paid a touching tribute to the late actress on Instagram.
On Wednesday, Jackson posted a series of photos showing him and Hayden smiling together, including shots from their time on the show.

In "Nashville," Jackson played Avery Buckley, who married Hayden's character, pop star Juliette Barnes. Off screen, the two were close friends.
Jackson accompanied the photos with an emotional message, beginning, "No words to express the loss of our beloved Hayden."
He continued, "She had such a bright light within her. She was a sensitive soul.

Reflecting on their working history, Jackson described Hayden as an "absolute joy" and always trustworthy.
He added that he and his wife, Lisa, will always hold a special place in their hearts for her, but currently feel only shock and grief.

As previously reported, Hayden died Sunday from a possible drug overdose in a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment where she was staying.
Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach, called 911 after Zach discovered Hayden's body.
The coroner has performed an autopsy, but the cause and manner of death are pending toxicology results.

TMZ exclusively reported Wednesday that the Drug Enforcement Administration had joined the Greenville PD in the death investigation.
