Samsung has built a reputation for offering long and timely software updates, with seven years promised for newer high-end devices and six years for many mid-range models.

However, devices launched in 2021 and 2022 are now approaching the end of their update lifecycle, meaning they will no longer receive One UI updates or security patches.

Galaxy Phones Nearing End of Support

Based on Samsung's official update policy, a list has been compiled of Galaxy phones that have already ended or will soon end their software support.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, launched in August 2021, saw their Android updates end in August 2025, with security patches continuing until August 2026.

The Galaxy S21 FE 5G, launched in January 2022, ended Android updates in January 2026, while security patches will continue until January 2027.

The Galaxy S22 series, including the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra, all launched in February 2022, have also seen their Android updates end in February 2026, with security patches until February 2027.

The Galaxy A53 5G, launched in April 2022, ended Android updates in April 2026, with security patches until April 2027.

The Galaxy A14, launched in May 2023, ended Android updates in May 2025, but security patches will continue until May 2027.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, launched in August 2022, will see Android updates end in August 2026 and security patches in August 2027.

The Galaxy S23 series, launched in February 2023, will end Android updates in February 2027 and security patches in February 2028.

The Galaxy A54 5G, launched in March 2023, will end Android updates in March 2027 and security patches in March 2028.

Samsung does not publish this list, and users are not notified when their device reaches end of life, so it's important to stay informed.

Even after support ends, the phone will continue to work, but it will miss out on new features and critical security fixes.

If your device is on the list, consider upgrading to a model with longer software support, such as those offering seven or six years of updates.
