Xiaomi has confirmed the global launch date for the Redmi Note 17 series: August 18, 2026, in Malaysia.
For the first time, the lineup will include a new top-end model, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, positioned above the standard Note 17 and Note 17 Pro.

The teaser reveals that the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature a silicon-carbon battery with up to 10,000mAh capacity, the largest ever in the Redmi Note series.
Expected Specifications
The standard Redmi Note 17 is expected to run on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, with a 7-inch OLED display, an 8,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, and a 50-megapixel main camera.

It also carries an IP65 rating.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro moves up to a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Its 9,000mAh battery pairs with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and the phone is IP69K-rated.

China doesn't have an official Pro Max yet, so the 10,000mAh model debuting in Malaysia looks to be a global-first addition.
A Geekbench listing for the global Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has also appeared ahead of the launch, giving an early look at the hardware.

Xiaomi is expected to reveal full specifications tomorrow, including RAM, storage, cameras, and pricing.
