Netflix has formally asked a judge to dismiss Tyra Banks' defamation lawsuit over the 'America's Next Top Model' docuseries, filing a motion on Friday.
The filing, obtained by TMZ, argues that Banks agreed to be interviewed and signed a release granting filmmakers broad editing rights.

Netflix contends that her claims of manipulation and 'surgical editing' amount to a 'request for more airtime and an edit more to her liking.'
The company's legal team asserts that a court should not 'second-guess editorial judgments merely because an interview subject would have preferred different ones.'

Netflix Defends Docuseries
In a statement to TMZ, Netflix said Banks was given the opportunity to speak openly and that the creators fairly presented her perspective alongside other participants.
The company said it stands behind 'Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model' and will continue to vigorously defend it.

Banks filed the lawsuit in June, claiming the documentary made her appear to know about a contestant's sexual assault and did nothing, while exploiting the storyline for ratings.
She also alleged that she was made to seem like she didn't remember much when asked about it.

Netflix has requested a hearing on its motion for October 30. TMZ has reached out to Banks for comment but has not received a response.
