Two upcoming Vivo phones, model numbers V2609A and V2606A, have cleared China's 3C certification, signaling their imminent launch.
The V2609A is believed to be the Vivo X500 series, while the V2606A is expected to be the iQOO 16.
Charging and connectivity details
The Vivo X500 has been certified with support for the N79 5G band and a 90W charging adapter.
A version with Beidou satellite communication is also said to be in development.
The iQOO 16 has received 3C certification with a 100W charging adapter and N79 5G band support.
Expected chipsets and AI features
The Vivo X500 series is tipped to use MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 lineup, which may include a 3nm Dimensity 9600 Lite and a 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro.
MIIT certification revealed that the Vivo X500 will support several AI models, including Vivo's BlueLM, Zhipu AI's ChatGLM, Baidu's ERNIE, ByteDance's Doubao, DeepSeek, and Alibaba's Qwen.
The iQOO 16 is expected to be among the first phones powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
Launch timeline and competition
The iQOO 16's launch is reportedly scheduled for early October in China, but it may debut by the end of September.
The Vivo X500 series will compete with the iPhone 18 Pro series and the Xiaomi 18 series, which are expected to launch in September.
The iQOO 16 will compete with the OnePlus 16 and Redmi K100 Pro Max.
