Brittany Boltinhouse, Miss North Carolina USA 2026, has been stripped of her crown just over a month after alleged racist social media posts resurfaced.
Miss USA CEO Thom Brodeur announced Wednesday that Boltinhouse agreed to step down after her conduct violated the pageant organization's standards.

Brodeur did not provide specifics but stated that the organization "does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity."
According to the NC Beat, Boltinhouse allegedly wrote racially charged posts under the alias "Sosa the Stallion" from 2017 to 2019, repeatedly using the n-word and describing herself as "toxic."

Decision and Successor
Brodeur said he acted on the information as soon as he received it, noting that Boltinhouse displayed the conduct over an extended period.
He emphasized that the Miss USA title is "not a trinket" but a position of trust, and that Boltinhouse is "still a human being" who has been publicly judged in a way most would not survive.
Brodeur mentioned that Boltinhouse has a family and a life ahead, and that accountability never requires cruelty or celebrating someone's downfall.
He also said he has read Boltinhouse's soon-to-be-released statement, in which she apologizes and takes ownership of her conduct.

Myla Hadley will assume the title of Miss North Carolina USA 2026, with Brodeur expressing "full confidence and support" in her.
