Xreal has introduced a new sub-brand called X By Xreal (xbx) with two augmented reality glasses: the xbx a01 and xbx a01+.

The company focused on reducing weight and lowering the entry price for wearable displays.

The standard xbx a01 weighs 62 grams, and removing the front frame brings it down to 56 grams.

The front frame is interchangeable, and Xreal offers optional styles like classic, sports, and black mirror.

Users can also design and print custom frames using provided 3D printing parameters.

Xreal says the lighter build reduces pressure on the nose by about 30%.

The temples are 10% thinner and more flexible for comfort when leaning back or lying down.

The glasses feature dual Micro OLED screens with a 50-degree field of view, equivalent to a 147-inch screen from four meters away.

Peak brightness reaches 1,600 nits, with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, and HDR10 support.

A built-in chip handles real-time SDR-to-HDR conversion. The displays use 3840Hz PWM dimming and hardware-level blue light reduction to reduce eye strain.

Built-in stereo speakers include cinema mode and whisper mode to minimize sound leakage.

A stabilization algorithm tracks posture 1,000 times per second to keep the virtual screen steady in moving vehicles.

The xbx a01 connects via USB-C to devices with DisplayPort output, such as phones, laptops, and handheld gaming consoles.

Paired with Xreal's Beam Pro accessory, users get 3DoF tracking and floating screens via nebulaOS 2.

The standard model costs 1,699 yuan ($250).
