George and Amal Clooney have been forced to evacuate their home in Brignoles, France, as wildfires continue to spread across Europe.
The couple, along with their children, left the property earlier this week as fires ravaged the nearby landscape.
In a letter to Brignoles Mayor Didier Brémond, George Clooney expressed concern for the community and uncertainty about their home's fate.
"At this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment," Clooney wrote.
He added, "As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasize two things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we'll be part of making it whole."
Clooney concluded, "We love Brignoles and our friends who live there."
The fires in France have grown to nearly four times the size of Paris.
Approximately 224,000 people have been evacuated in the Gironde region, with an additional 3,000 evacuated in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, where the Clooneys' home is located.
George and Amal Clooney moved to France a few years ago.
In an October interview with Esquire, George explained they wanted to raise their twins away from Hollywood celebrity culture and sought a quieter life.
