Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at its Unpacked event, alongside the more premium Fold 8 Ultra.
The standard model adopts a wider, shorter design that feels more compact and media-friendly compared to its predecessor.

The outer display measures 5.5 inches with a 10:16 aspect ratio, while the inner 7.6-inch screen uses a near-square 4:3 ratio to minimize black bars on videos.
Both panels are Dynamic AMOLED 2X, support HDR, and reach up to 3,000 nits peak brightness with an anti-reflective coating for better outdoor visibility.
Hardware and Design Upgrades
Samsung introduced a new “Flex Titanium” backplate that reduces the display crease and enhances structural rigidity.
At 201 grams, the Fold 8 is the lightest book-style foldable from Samsung, even lighter than the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Folded dimensions are 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7mm, expanding to 123.9 × 161.4 × 4.5mm when opened.
The device carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. However, S Pen support remains absent.
The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide lens on the rear.
Both the cover and inner displays house 10MP front cameras.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset powers the device, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.

The battery capacity increases to 4,800mAh thanks to silicon-carbon technology, supporting 45W wired charging (0–63% in 30 minutes) and 20W wireless charging.
The phone runs One UI 9.0 based on the latest Android, with seven years of OS and security updates.
It also includes Galaxy AI and Gemini-based features.
Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes in Lavender, Graphite, and Cream. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments starting August 7.
