After a seven-year gap, Vivo is reportedly bringing back its S-series to India with the Vivo S2.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the device (model V2576) is expected to launch in early August 2026, with sales likely starting around August 15.
The phone has already appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database, a strong indicator that an official announcement is imminent.
Positioned in the premium mid-range segment
The Vivo S2 is said to target the premium mid-range segment, putting it in direct competition with devices like the Oppo Reno 16 Pro.
If rumors hold, it could be a compelling choice for users seeking a stylish handset with capable cameras.
The original Vivo S1 launched in 2019 with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display, a MediaTek Helio P65 processor, a 16MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
It also packed a 4,500mAh battery with 18W charging.
The S1 was positioned as a youth-centric premium mid-range smartphone, starting at Rs. 17,990 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
The S2 is expected to build on that formula with upgraded hardware and improved image processing.
It may also share some design and features with Vivo's global V-series models.
Given the shift in the premium mid-range price bracket and recent memory chip shortages, the tipster expects the Vivo S2 to launch in India at under Rs.
50,000.
More concrete details on the processor, display, software, and pricing are expected as the August launch window approaches.
It remains to be seen how the S2 will differentiate itself in India's crowded mid-range market.
