Kim Kardashian faced criticism from fans after sharing photos of herself partying with her sisters shortly after her grandmother's death.

The SKIMS founder has now clarified the situation.

On Thursday, Kim posted a series of images on Instagram showing her, Khloe Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner enjoying a boat trip.

Kendall was seen drinking tequila, and other family members appeared to be having fun on vacation.

Just minutes before Kim's post, Kris Jenner announced on her own Instagram that her mother, Mary Jo "MJ," had passed away.

Fans were unhappy with the timing of Kim's post, with one commenting, "Didn’t your grandmama just pass? This couldn’t wait to the weekend."

Kim responded by explaining that the party post had been scheduled to be published several days before her grandmother's death.

"So its timing came right alongside her passing," she wrote.

She added that she deeply loves and misses her grandma and will celebrate her beautiful life in the coming days with her family.

Kim also uploaded a carousel of touching photos of her with her grandmother through the years.
