Huawei has officially launched the FreeClip 2 S, its latest open-ear wireless earbuds, during a global event in Malaysia.
The new audio device was introduced alongside the Huawei Pura 90s series and the MatePad Air 2026.

Design and Comfort
The FreeClip 2 S adopts an open-ear C-bridge design that rests outside the ear canal. This allows users to stay aware of their surroundings while wearing the earbuds.
Huawei used a liquid silicone material that is 25% softer than the previous generation.
The company claims the design is based on data from over 10,000 ear samples for a more secure and comfortable fit.
Each earbud weighs only 5.1 grams, making them suitable for all-day wear.
The earbuds also feature automatic left and right recognition, so users can wear either earbud in either ear without manual adjustment.
Audio and Features
Inside, the FreeClip 2 S houses a 10.8mm dual-diaphragm driver system. Huawei says the updated driver structure improves bass response and overall sound balance.

The earbuds include an integrated AI-powered NPU for audio and voice processing. This supports call noise reduction and sound optimization.
Adaptive volume adjustment automatically optimizes audio levels based on surrounding noise and content. Adaptive voice enhancement helps clarify speech during calls.
A triple-microphone system with AI noise reduction further improves call quality.
Huawei also equipped the earbuds with an inverse sound wave system to minimize audio leakage and enhance listening privacy.
The FreeClip 2 S supports spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. Gesture-based controls and head gesture call management are also included.
Connectivity features Bluetooth 6.0 with dual-device support.

The Huawei Audio Connect app allows users to customize controls, adjust a 10-band EQ, switch between devices, and monitor battery status.
Battery and Durability
The earbuds offer up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge. With the charging case, total battery life extends to 38 hours.
Fast charging, USB-C, and wireless charging are supported. The earbuds carry an IP57 rating, while the charging case is rated IP54.
Pricing and Availability
The FreeClip 2 S is available in Deepsea Blue and Space Silver. In Malaysia, the price is set at RM 899.
In the UK, the earbuds are priced at £169 until August 17, after which they will return to £199.
A £199 bundle option includes Les Néréides clip-ons.

In Europe, the retail price is €229, with a promotional price of €199 available until August 21, 2026.
