Guthrie was absent from the NBC morning show for a second consecutive day on Thursday. Laura Jarrett filled in alongside Craig Melvin, following Sheinelle Jones's appearance on Wednesday.
Her time away comes as the investigation into her mother's disappearance remains active.

Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Arizona home on January 31, and authorities continue to treat the case as a kidnapping for ransom.
The FBI has clarified confusion surrounding ransom notes in the case.
An FBI Phoenix spokesperson stated that while some ransom notes have been deemed extortion attempts without legitimacy, others may be legitimate and are still under investigation.
This clarification followed reports suggesting the ransom notes were fake.

Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that characterization was inaccurate, and an FBI official later indicated it is 'more likely than not' that two of the notes are legitimate.
TMZ has received over a dozen emails from someone claiming to know the identities of the alleged kidnappers, demanding 1 Bitcoin for the information.
The sender later claimed to know the location of a hidden phone with photos and videos related to the kidnapping, again demanding payment.
