A new render video claims to show the iPhone 20, hinting at a radical design overhaul that could be one of the biggest in iPhone history.

The video, published by YouTube channel fpt.

, depicts an almost bezel-free device with glass flowing across all four edges, under-display Face ID, and no physical buttons.

While Apple has not confirmed anything, the renders combine rumors from supply chain reports and analysts like Mark Gurman that have been circulating for months.

Name and Timing

If Apple releases the iPhone 18 this year, the 2027 model would logically be called the iPhone 19.

However, rumors suggest Apple may skip directly to iPhone 20 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone.

Apple has done this before.

In 2017, it skipped the iPhone 9 and launched the iPhone X for the tenth anniversary, introducing Face ID and an edge-to-edge display.

Three Major Design Changes

The video claims the iPhone 20 will introduce three major design changes.

First, a quad-curved screen: Apple is reportedly working with Samsung on a custom OLED panel that curves slightly on all four sides.

Second, the removal of the Dynamic Island. Leaks suggest both the front camera and Face ID system may sit completely under the display.

Third, the removal of physical buttons. Instead of traditional power and volume keys, Apple may use solid-state touch controls with vibration feedback.

Hardware Upgrades

The redesign may come with major hardware upgrades.

The phone is expected to use Apple's new 2nm A21 chip and could include a 200-megapixel main sensor with improved HDR technology.

Apple is also reportedly using silicon-carbon battery technology in the iPhone 20.

Technical Challenges

Apple is working with both Samsung and LG to solve technical issues related to the quad-curved display, including brightness reduction around the curved edges.

Under-display Face ID is another challenge. Apple needs to ensure the sensor works while maintaining fast unlocking speeds and good selfie camera quality.
