Courtney Clenney's legal team is pushing back against prosecutors' portrayal of her boyfriend as a harmless victim.

In a new filing obtained by TMZ, the OnlyFans model's lawyers say Christian Obumseli had an active arrest warrant for animal cruelty at the time of his death.

Clenney allegedly killed Obumseli during a violent confrontation in 2022. She has maintained it was self-defense.

Arrest Warrant Details

The warrant was issued by law enforcement in Texas. It stemmed from an incident in November 2020 at a Houston apartment complex.

Police were called after property managers reported a dead dog in one of the apartments.

Officers entered the residence after being told Obumseli had likely left to avoid paying back rent.

Inside, they found the dog locked in a kennel. Food and feces were next to the animal, but there was no water.

Authorities determined the dog had likely been dead for 5 to 7 days.

When police spoke to Obumseli, he said he thought the dog, Halo, was sleeping before he left for 24 hours.

The report noted he seemed visibly upset.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals.

Clenney's lawyers argue this evidence counters the prosecution's claim that Obumseli was peaceful and not the aggressor.
