A 25-year-old bull rider was violently trampled during a rodeo in New York City, leaving him bloodied and hospitalized, police said.
The incident happened Sunday night in the Bronx at the Rodeo Tierra Caliente. The rider was thrown from the bull and then stomped by its hooves.

A video obtained by NBC New York shows the moment the rider fell and was trampled. Handlers quickly dragged him to safety.
An off-duty paramedic watching the event provided medical aid.
The rider's cheek was punctured by the bull's horn, and the paramedic stopped the bleeding with her bare hands.

The NYPD confirmed the rider was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.

Police said the bull was secured at the scene.
