Hyundai is preparing to bring an extended-range electric Santa Fe to the United States in the first half of 2027.
The Santa Fe EREV will join the brand's lineup alongside battery-electric and hybrid models, reflecting different electrification speeds across markets.
Planned Specifications and Assembly
The Santa Fe EREV will be assembled at Hyundai's Alabama plant, where regular versions of the midsize SUV are already produced.
Hyundai targets more than 600 miles (965 kilometers) of range for the model, though this remains a manufacturer target ahead of production.
The vehicle will use two electric motors, aiming to deliver an EV-like driving experience and acceleration.
The battery will have less than half the capacity planned for an equivalent fully electric Santa Fe, distinguishing it from a full EV.
Final details on battery capacity, efficiency, pricing, and certified range have not been announced.
Broader EREV Strategy and Genesis
Hyundai plans to introduce extended-range electric vehicles across all market segments, with the Santa Fe as part of a wider product direction.
The company also plans to launch or renew more than 100 vehicles globally by 2030, according to coverage of its U.
S. expansion and 2030 roadmap.
Genesis, Hyundai's premium brand, is targeting more than 640 miles (1,030 kilometers) of range for its first extended-range electric vehicle.
Together, these vehicles show Hyundai applying EREV technology to both mainstream and premium brands, preparing a broader mix of powertrains toward 2030.
