Honor has officially confirmed the launch date for its next flagship lineup, the Magic 9 series, which will debut on September 28 in Beijing.

The announcement was made by Honor CEO Li Jian following the Robot Phone launch event, and early reservations for the new series are already open.

The Magic 9 series is expected to be among the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform, built on a 2nm process.

This move could mark the entry of Android flagships into the 2nm era, promising significant gains in performance, power efficiency, and on-device AI.

Imaging and display highlights

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Magic 9 series may sport a 200-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57 aperture, and 3-degree optical image stabilization.

A 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/2.6 aperture is also tipped.

Honor has partnered with German imaging company ARRI, which is expected to bring features like ARRI LogC3, ARRI Look, and an ARRI movie mode for enhanced photography and video.

The series is rumored to feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K LTPO 2.5D flat display, along with a large battery, fast wireless charging, 3D facial recognition, and 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning.

At least three models are expected: the Magic 9, Magic 9 Pro, and Magic 9 Pro Max.
