Oura has unveiled the Oura Ring 5, featuring a slimmer build and new health-focused software capabilities. The device emphasizes preventive care, AI-driven insights, and long-term biometric monitoring.
Smaller and Lighter Design
The Oura Ring 5 is approximately 40 percent smaller than its predecessor. This reduction comes from a redesign of internal components, sensors, and battery architecture.
The ring measures 6.09mm in width and 2.28mm in thickness. It weighs as little as 2 grams, depending on the size selected.
Improved signal pathways and redesigned sensor domes enhance accuracy across different skin tones and finger types, according to the company.
New Health Tracking Features
A key addition is blood pressure trend tracking during sleep, allowing users to monitor overnight cardiovascular patterns.
The ring also introduces nighttime breathing analysis for tracking breathing disturbances over extended periods.
The companion app now includes GLP-1 tracking tools. Users can log medication doses, side effects, weight changes, and related health data.
Oura is expanding into connected healthcare.
The app can import medical records such as medications, allergies, diagnosed conditions, and lab reports in supported regions.
AI-driven health guidance and direct connections with medical professionals are available in select markets.
Battery and Connectivity
The ring offers up to nine days of battery life. It supports Bluetooth-based device tracking to locate misplaced rings or charging accessories.
