Wes Anderson and Luke Wilson experienced an unexpected delay Monday night when they got stuck in an elevator at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

The duo, along with director James L. Brooks and at least three others, had to be freed by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A video shared by production specialist Carolyn Dunn shows the group emerging from the elevator as firefighters assist them.

In the clip, Anderson asks what caused the problem, and a firefighter responds that the elevator was overloaded.

LAFD told TMZ they responded to a call for a stuck elevator — specifically elevator C — at the museum at 7:49 PM.

Anderson, Wilson, and the others were trapped for less than an hour.

The trio had attended a sold-out 30th anniversary screening of Anderson's debut film, "Bottle Rocket," which starred Wilson and his brother Owen.

After a Q&A session, they got into the elevator to head to their cars.

There's no word yet on whether the trapped filmmakers used the time to brainstorm a new movie idea.
