Amar'e Stoudemire, the former NBA All-Star, says becoming a rabbi is a real possibility.
In a recent interview, he told TMZ Sports that his extensive religious studies make the idea "not far-fetched."
Stoudemire converted to Judaism years ago and has often been seen studying prayer books.
He explained that he keeps his brain active and is "always preparing for what's next."
When asked directly if he could become a rabbi, the Phoenix Suns legend laughed, acknowledging it would require a lot of schooling.
Still, he added, "it's not far-fetched, so you never know."
Stoudemire, whose Hebrew name is Yahoshafat Ben Avraham, gained Israeli citizenship while playing for Hapoel Jerusalem.
His basketball career included stints with the Suns, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Miami Heat, earning six All-Star selections and the 2003 Rookie of the Year award.
Next month, Stoudemire will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.
For now, he remains focused on his spiritual journey, but the possibility of becoming Rabbi STAT is clearly on his mind.
