WWE Draft 2023 has now officially begun as of the most recent SmackDown Live program. It was clear that whatever company had first dibs on The Tribal Chief would select it. Likewise, Smackdown selected the Undisputed Champion as the first pick in this year’s Draft. Fans, however, appear surprised that RAW introduced The American Nightmare first. They believe that WWE is purposefully keeping Cody Rhodes away from Roman Reigns till the 2023 Draft.
Fans believe that The Tribal Chief should be deposed by the winner of the men’s Royal Rumble in 2023. They still want him to complete his journey despite the WrestleMania 39 defeat. However, they felt betrayed when WWE Draft 2023 made it clear that Cody Rhodes would remain on RAW and Roman Reign would remain on SmackDown.

Fans Criticized the Decision to Keep Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes on Distinct Brands Through WWE Draft 2023
A supporter bluntly referred to the choice as awful on Twitter. He believes that having Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes on different brands in WWE Draft 2023 makes the latter’s loss at WrestleMania 39 appear worse. The irate fan continued by saying that Cody will receive the new title since WWE was aware that they had lost the opportunity.

This is a terrible choice. We all know you’re going to award him the new belt, so the defeat at Mania looks even worse now. I can’t help but think the company knows they’ve missed their chance.
